FOOTPRINTS. POEMS. TRANSLATED AND ORIGINAL. BY GEORGE BROWNING.
LONDON: John CAMDEN HOTTEN, PICCADILLY. 1871. (ALL RIGHTS RESERVED)
[Dedikation i "Footprints"]

As a token of the friendship
Of the love I bear for thee
Take this little book and guard it:
Read it, somtimes think of me;
Tho' the seas will soon divide us,
Tho' our years are not the same,
Still there is one heaven above us,
And we differ but in fame.
All the world admires thy genius,
Purest, brightest, 'neath the sun,
Peace be thine, thou Prince of Poets,
With the laurels nobly won!
George Browning
